The village of Braunton is a short walk and provides local shopping, a variety of pubs, restaurants and bistros to suit most tastes.

The area provides many ways of relaxing, the extensive beaches at Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe just a short drive away are ideal for traditional beach activities plus being a mecca for surfing etc. The national cycle routes, including the renowned Tarka Trail border the estuary, cycle hire is provided in the village if required. There are several golf courses within easy reach.

Walkers can enjoy the level walks on the Burrows and estuary or follow the many public footpaths both on the coast and in the rolling countryside of North Devon. The Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks are within reasonable driving distance.
